Douglas Laird was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946 and later immigrated to Canada in 1965, currently residing with his wife and daughter in Oakville, Ontario. For many years Douglas Laird traveled throughout North America and Europe. His travels have strongly influenced the subject matter used in his paintings.
